WHAT IS CBD?
CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is a compound found in cannabis plants that has been studied and scientifically proven to have various medicinal benefits, without the psychoactive effects of “getting stoned” like its fellow compound THC (Tetrahydrocannabidiol). CBD has become quite a sensation in the last few years as word has gotten out that there are numerous health and healing benefits associated with it. CBD is one of 80 different compounds found within the resin of a Cannabis plant.
Once the cannabinoids are ingested they find their way to cells in our body, called “cannabinoid receptors”. These receptors can be found in almost every organ throughout the body and especially within the nervous system. Together these receptors make up what is called the “Endocannabinoid System”. Endo meaning inside and cannabinoid refers to the interaction with the receptors. This system assists in just about everything, including:
– Nerve function
– Pain relief
– Immune function
– And much much more
CBD has the potential to be the answer to many peoples’ prayers, from its therapeutic effects to its anti-cancer effects that have been, and are currently being, researched at various institutes throughout the US. The potential for this natural occurring compound has taken the world by storm and as research continues we may find ourselves utilizing CBD for much more within the medical field in the future.

CBD vs. THC
CBD and THC are both cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, but what makes the compounds different? Well for starters CBD is non-psychoactive while THC on the other hand does have psychoactive effects, essentially leading to the “high” sensation. THC can also lead to anxiety and paranoia if it is not balanced out with its counterpart CBD, which is known to decrease those psychoactive effects. Also, CBD has been shown to reduce pain long term while THC simply relieves pain temporarily.
The way that each of these chemical compounds reacts within the body differs from one another in the fact that THC receptors (CB1) are concentrated in the central nervous system while CBD engages receptors (CB2) in the immune system.
THC and CBD are two of over 85 different natural occurring cannabinoid strains found in the cannabis plant and when these compounds all work together it is called the “entourage effect”, also know as the “full spectrum effect”. There is exponential power in the full spectrum of the plant, where as isolating just CBD has no “entourage effect”. The only way to get the “entourage effect” is to preserve the terpenes and all the delicate cannabinoids by the method of Hemp Paste™.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD?
CBD has many amazing benefits and has been emerging as a powerful supplement in combating inflammation, social disorders, and terminal illnesses. There is extensive research that has been done, and is currently taking place, regarding the 700 plus benefits of CBD.
Inflammation is the primary cause of most pain within our bodies and CBD has been known to combat inflammation by targeting our “cannabinoid receptors”. These receptors are located throughout our bodies and are specific receptors to the compound CBD.
Cancer patients have also found great long term relief when using CBD to deal with their pain and overall health.
